Why Hire A Marquee? Three Top Benefits

Posted on June 28th, 2011 by admin  |  Comments Off

With freak weather currently crossing the UK, why hire a marquee I hear you say?

Well, marquees are no longer the cold ‘circus’ type structure that once was.

It’s important to realise how popular marquees are. For a variety of occasions, it is the perfect way to celebrate in style.

So we thought we would write three top benefits of hiring a marquee in the UK that we haven’t covered yet:

1. You get to choose your perfect location

This way, you select where to pitch the marquee, and are not limited to certain venues. Provided the venue, lawn or farmers field you choose has the relevant permissions (or they can be sought) then your choices are not restricted.

2. You get to plan and host your event, hassle-free

Imagine all the planning – flowers, decorations, lighting, sound, catering, furniture. There are times when a good events company can really take the hassle out of organising, so that you can concentrate on your guests.

3. It’s a flexible solution – have as many or as few guests as you choose to

Marquees come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, and can therefore be tailored to suit the amount of guests you want to invite. No more being squeezed in or, even worse – finding that your guests only half fill the venue. That would make your event memorable for all the wrong reasons!

So, don’t limit your options and look at the options to hire a fantastic location, construct it at your chosen venue, and house your guests perfectly!

Getting Married at Home – A More Popular Choice

Posted on May 14th, 2011 by admin  |  Comments Off

The popularity of becoming a wedded couple at home is rising.

It  takes a well organised person to arrange everything in order to help the day or weekend go smoothly.

  • Garden Drainage – ensuring the area is not waterlogged
  • Landscaping & Gardening – maintaining a neat tidy look
  • Upkeep of the home – some rooms may serve as a rest area for guests

Garden Drainage
Keeping an exemplary garden area is key. Elegant surroundings enhance the visual appeal of the overall scene, and add real atmosphere.

We may have brilliant blue skies now, how long that will last is anyones guess, so exceedingly good planning is essential. If you are aware that your garden is commonly waterlogged, arrange garden drainage services to arrive a day or two before the marquee is erected. This can always be cancelled, however do ensure you check the cost of cancellation before booking.

Gardening & Landscaping
Ask your gardener if they can increase the amount of hours they work at the garden, or if you do not already have one, make enquiries and seek a reliable gardener that can maintain the lawn, trees and shrubs – perhaps they may need to creating a planting plan based around the marquee.

Preparing Your Home
You may wish to redecorate, or create a temporary bedroom or dressing area from an unused office or sitting room space. Alternatively, a simple freshen up can help create restful areas where guests can reside and the bride can change on the morning of the wedding day.

Event Management
Event Management companies and individuals may assist you with organisation pre-wedding, to alleviate the pressure on you, often the cost is similar to what it may have been anyway. This is largely due to a Management company having good contacts, and they will be happy to negotiate lower prices.

Wedding Marquees for True Style

Posted on May 6th, 2011 by admin  |  Comments Off

We’re all feeling very excited about weddings, following the biggest wedding in the UK last week!

Traditional or framed, the size of the marquee you choose is dependent on the number of guests you have – not all of us will have millions of spectators when we get married, but it can be surprising just how many guests you will have on your guest list.

Also important is the site or venue at which you wish to erect your wedding marquee. We would always recommend that the company you choose visits the site to assess it’s suitability. This ensures that the marquee can be erected safely, and that the amount of guests you will invite will fit comfortably inside the marquee.

By having a visit to site, you will get the opportunity to discuss your requirements, and ask important questions about safety, and about other rental items that you may need such as chairs, tables and other furnishings.

We would like to congratulate all of our newly engaged visitors, and wish you all the best for your upcoming wedding day

Royal Wedding Party Marquee

Posted on April 21st, 2011 by admin  |  Comments Off

Well the time is almost upon us. William and Kate will join together for the royal wedding at 11am on the 29th April.

Celebrations are set to start at the time of the Royal wedding and typically British bunting, food, wine and delights will be served all over the country to mark the occasion.

Whilst there are many party marquees already booked for the occasion, there may still be time to find companies that have small or large marquee’s that can be erected in time for the Royal Wedding.

Some London council authorities are still accepting road closure applications to encourage more people to join the celebrations!

For those of you that still wish to hire furniture or need to place a last minute catering order, there are only three working days before the Royal Wedding. send us a request using this enquiry form - most rental businesses are working over the bank holidays to help us all celebrate and party in style.

We look forward to seeing last minute requests which we will send directly to the organisations we have superb partnerships with.

Have a very exciting Easter weekend and celebrate the Royal Wedding with a huge party that is well catered for and furnished with true British elegance.

Festival Season is On the Way

Posted on April 18th, 2011 by admin  |  Comments Off

Festival season is almost among us. Hiring a marquee for a town carnival or high profile festival is usually something that is a little bit unfamiliar to business owners.

However, taking on a marquee at a community fete or large festival can be extremely rewarding for small business, with most hire companies offering a wealth of event management experience, which can help you to rent the best marquee to suit the business’ needs.

Putting a catering tent up can help you promote your business and benefit from a busy town fete – you will not only attract those people passing by your company, but will gain from foot fall at the site of the main event.

How much will it cost?
Working out how much a basic marquee will cost can be fairly straightforward. Most catering tents do not require flooring, however it is a good idea in case the weather turns out a little wetter than planned.

Think about the size you will need in which to house your equipment. You may wish to hire furniture so that your visitors can sit down and eat the food you serve, and you may want extra space for people to mingle whilst they wait to be served. Space costs money, but with unpredictable weather it can be useful to rent a larger marquee with extra room.

Starting at around £500 with a floor and basic lighting, your marquee can safely offer you electrics and water. Hiring catering equipment, or using your own, can add to the costs and of course taking on extra staff for the day, or weekend, needs to be factored in too.

Hiring a marquee for a carnival or festival is a great way to promote your own catering business, and an ideal way to take advantage of extra business.

Organising a Street Party?

Posted on April 13th, 2011 by admin  |  Comments Off

With the Royal Wedding coming up, no doubt there will be plenty of keen neighbours organising street parties across the UK.

There is still time for most London residents to organise a party and get swept up in Royal Wedding fever thats spreading across the country.

Arranging road closure and party insurance are vital parts of a street party, alongside furniture, catering, bunting and balloons but none of that needs to be expensive. Road closure should be fee free – check with your local council authority.

Private Street Parties
But it doesn’t have to be as involved as you think – you may choose to hire a marquee, just in case the weather really isn’t up to it on the day, or you may simply decide to rent tables. With the rest of the neighbourhood pitching in, the chances are that you will have all the furniture and food you need. However, there are lots of companies with great deals right now, who can help plan even the smallest of street party, so that you can concentrate on the fun part – enjoying yourselves!

Sponsored Business Street Parties
There are a rather a lot of businesses who are hopping on the band wagon and using the 29th April as a fabulous excuse for promotion.

For those street parties that are organised or sponsored by business, a more formal approach may be required. This is where some inexpensive yet well organised catering and furniture companies can assist. There are also plenty of events management companies that will arrange everything on your behalf.
So there are solutions for everybody. Get the Union Jacks out with pride and start partying!

Hiring a Party Marquee in London

Posted on March 28th, 2011 by admin  |  Comments Off

It’s fairly unlikely you need any excuse to hold a party, but whatever your excuse we can help you to hire a party marquee.

A stylish alternative to hiring a room or holding a party at your home, a marquee can give your guests a place to sit, dance and take shelter from our unpredictable weather.

It doesn’t matter if you need to house a thousand well heeled ladies or a small group of friends, marquees can keep the party and your home seperate and can help you make a real style statement.

Romantic Atmosphere
If you want to really impress, add to your marquee some themed decorative soft furnishings by hiring chair covers, chair sashes and floral displays for a romantic or boutique feel.

Club Night
Consider illuminating the floor and dance areas with creative lighting, and a music ambassador (think of a Pacha DJ or a live dance band) to host a successful club night.

Entertainment
Find entertainers and create seperate areas to involve guests in – think casino event hire or mobile beauty therapy for real indulgence.

Whatever your excuse, party hard in your marquee and enjoy the moment!

Benefits of Wedding Marquee Hire

Posted on March 26th, 2011 by admin  |  Comments Off

There are a huge amount of benefits to hiring a marquee, especially where outdoor weddings or receptions are concerned.

A marquee is a great way to hold a celebration under an unpretentious and very stylish canopy.

You can shelter yourself and your guests from the changeable British weather whilst maintaining a comfortable indoors temperature.

Some couples choose to hold the whole celebration within the marquee, whilst other couples opt to hold the reception, dinner and disco in the marquee after holding the ceremony at a church or alternative venue.

Celebrating Your Wedding Indoors, Outdoors
A marquee may be a temporary piece of architecture, but it’s a flexible option. You can theme the inside of the marquee and decorate it to suit your taste. It’s also a perfect option if you have lots of guests as some venues may not be able to house so many guests.

By erecting your marquee in hotel grounds or other type of building, the hotel can organise the whole day whilst you can be confident all of your guests can be seated.

A hotel will take on the catering, furniture hire, flowers and decoration which is a great option compared to choosing another type of venue, such as a historic castle, where you will be required to organise these things yourself.

The final thing to mention is that by selecting a hotel to house your wedding marquee, your guests have the option to choose to stay in rooms at the hotel. They may choose to use the car parking and other facilities there too.
