We’re all feeling very excited about weddings, following the biggest wedding in the UK last week!

Traditional or framed, the size of the marquee you choose is dependent on the number of guests you have – not all of us will have millions of spectators when we get married, but it can be surprising just how many guests you will have on your guest list.

Also important is the site or venue at which you wish to erect your wedding marquee. We would always recommend that the company you choose visits the site to assess it’s suitability. This ensures that the marquee can be erected safely, and that the amount of guests you will invite will fit comfortably inside the marquee.

By having a visit to site, you will get the opportunity to discuss your requirements, and ask important questions about safety, and about other rental items that you may need such as chairs, tables and other furnishings.

Festival season is almost among us. Hiring a marquee for a town carnival or high profile festival is usually something that is a little bit unfamiliar to business owners.

However, taking on a marquee at a community fete or large festival can be extremely rewarding for small business, with most hire companies offering a wealth of event management experience, which can help you to rent the best marquee to suit the business’ needs.

Putting a catering tent up can help you promote your business and benefit from a busy town fete – you will not only attract those people passing by your company, but will gain from foot fall at the site of the main event.

How much will it cost?
Working out how much a basic marquee will cost can be fairly straightforward. Most catering tents do not require flooring, however it is a good idea in case the weather turns out a little wetter than planned.

Think about the size you will need in which to house your equipment. You may wish to hire furniture so that your visitors can sit down and eat the food you serve, and you may want extra space for people to mingle whilst they wait to be served. Space costs money, but with unpredictable weather it can be useful to rent a larger marquee with extra room.

With the Royal Wedding coming up, no doubt there will be plenty of keen neighbours organising street parties across the UK.

There is still time for most London residents to organise a party and get swept up in Royal Wedding fever thats spreading across the country.

Arranging road closure and party insurance are vital parts of a street party, alongside furniture, catering, bunting and balloons but none of that needs to be expensive. Road closure should be fee free – check with your local council authority.

But it doesn’t have to be as involved as you think – you may choose to hire a marquee, just in case the weather really isn’t up to it on the day, or you may simply decide to rent tables. With the rest of the neighbourhood pitching in, the chances are that you will have all the furniture and food you need. There are a huge amount of benefits to hiring a marquee, especially where outdoor weddings or receptions are concerned.

Mid Week busy!

Well in the office this week, we have been rushed off our feet. Lots of last minute booking, because of the weather. Our team had a really big job with Clacton Council on Monday and the team really did themselves proud. The council officials seemed really happy and have booked us for the Clacton Air Show. We are really busy also with Wedding bookings for next year, fingers crossed we can secure all those. We have had a good tidy and shuffle round in yard, making it better for us in the office. Hi all just started this new blog process. So here is my first post about what’s happening at Docklands Marquees.

We just finished a job for Artichoke; they wanted a large marquee with lots of added extras. They hired over 300 glasses from us, hope none get broken!!! When the team gets back we will be gearing up for a Clacton Council job.
